From Michael DeWitt 01/04/08:

Staff Sergeant Marvin L. Best was a childhood friend of mine and very close to me.

We grew from Cub Scouts thru Boy Scouts, and Church, along with our schooling together; he was a great friend and companion.

I was serving my 2nd Middle East tour the day Marvin gave his life and unfortunately did not find out till several months later after viewing a newspaper sent from home about a dedication write up.

I miss him so dearly and thank you for the website. Not being able to attend his memorial has weighed deeply on me for years.

Your service and support of this fine man that has shaped my own 18 years in the Army is a great deed.

Thank you,
Mike

From Jeremy Case 10/07/05:

From Mike Hosko 07/28/05:

Losing him last year has been a daily sledge hammer.
His loss has hurt more than my grandparents or uncles and aunts dying.
He was 5 when I went to boot camp.
I got to attend his funeral at Prosser, WA last June.
Thank you for honoring his service.
